The breathing circle

Slow, paced breathing is one of the fastest levers the body offers for settling the nervous system. Choose a pattern, press start, and let the circle set the pace: grow with it as you breathe in, soften as it shrinks. Nothing is recorded; this page is just you and your breath.

Pattern

In for 4, out for 6. The long exhale nudges the nervous system toward rest. The gentlest start.

Why such a small thing helps

  • Breathing is the one part of the stress response you can steer directly: slowing it signals safety to the rest of the system.
  • Long exhales in particular engage the body's rest-and-digest response, which is why patterns like 4-6 weight the out-breath.
  • The skill compounds: a rhythm practiced when calm is far easier to reach for in a hard moment.
  • Two minutes counts. Consistency beats duration, and this page will always be here.

Keep tending your mind

Two quiet minutes is a real skill practiced. When you are ready, take an honest snapshot of how the last two weeks have felt, or weigh your demands against what restores you.
